Dear YEF friend,
When 20 years ago I set out to establish an education fund under my Alma Mater's Foundation, I had no idea where this would all lead to. I did have big ambitions to help as many students as I could but I also knew the task was daunting.
But my good friend and our invaluable advisor to our Board, Dr. Stephen Dunnett reminded me that even helping one person would make a difference in many people's lives. And today after a few years of not being able to support the fund financially in a significant way, I am pleased to let you know that with the support of former YEF scholarship recipients, we are relaunching the Yildizlar Education Fund.
What makes this so special is the fact that former YEF students acknowledged the opportunities this scholarship program gave them and now they want to be able to do the same for others! This in itself was one of the wishes I had when I first established the fund. I wanted students to see the value of giving back to people in need. I am very proud of each one of them to commit to this endeavour both financially as well as personally.
So please allow me to thank our former students in making it possible for the Fund continue to give opportunities to students like them. It is now time to pass the torch onto a new generation of Philanthropists!
I also would like to take this opportunity to ask each and everyone of you to consider supporting Yildizlar Education Fund in any way you can. No financial support is too small or no in-kind support is too little. With your help we can continue to give young minds opportunities beyond their wildest dreams!
